Turkey Chili

Ingredients
- 1 pound turkey, ground
- 1 medium onion, minced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil or vegetable oil
- 3 cups water
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 tablespoon parsley flakes, dried
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 15.5 ounce can red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 15.5 ounce can diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
Directions
- In a large sauce pan, cook turkey in oil until turkey is browned, about 9 minutes. Drain fat.
- Add onions and cook about 4 minutes.
- Add remaining ingredients except the cheese. Bring to a boil, stirring frequently.
- Cover and reduce heat. Simmer about 15 minutes.
- Uncover and simmer 10 more minutes. Divide into bowls and sprinkle with cheese.
Recipe Tips
Instead of cheese, top with plain yogurt or sour cream.
You can use any type of bean you have on hand.
Serve over rice, baked potatoes, or with crackers.
