Green Beans with Tomatoes and Basil
This easy recipe is flavorful and would make a quick side dish for any occasion.

Ingredients
- 1 pound green beans, ends snipped
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 1 14.5-ounce can diced tomatoes, drained
- 1/2 teaspoon basil, dried
- 1/2 teaspoon parsley, dried
Directions
- Cook beans in a large saucepan of boiling water for 5 minutes; beans will still be crisp. Drain and rinse under cold running water. Set aside.
- In a large frying pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add onion and cook 5 minutes until softened.
- Add tomatoes, basil and parsley. Cook 3 minutes to heat and combine flavors.
- Stir beans into pan and cook 5-6 minutes. Serve warm.
Recipe Tips
Use any type of canned or fresh tomatoes. If using fresh, drain liquid.
