Ingredients
- 1/2 cup butter, at room temperature
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel (or 2 tablespoons lemon juice)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups dried figs, chopped
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, lemon and vanilla. Beat well.
- Stir together flour, baking powder and salt in a separate bowl. Blend into sugar mixture. Stir in figs.
- Pour into a greased 13 x 9 baking pan. Bake for 25 minutes.
- Cool and cut into bars.
