ChopChop Family and Click ‘N Cook are collaborating to share healthy, produce-forward recipes just in time for GBFB’s Spring for Meals fundraising campaign during the month of March. Supporting this campaign helps GBFB’s goal of making nutritious fresh fruits and vegetables available to everyone in need across Eastern Massachusetts.
ChopChop Family is the non-profit publisher of cooking magazines, cookbooks, digital content, cooking curricula, and learning decks. Their mission is to inspire and educate families to cook and eat real food together.
With shared goals around simple, nutrient-dense meals, ChopChop Family is sharing some of their family-friendly recipes with GBFB for the Click ‘N Cook website. These recipes are written so that a child could cook and prepare them with some adult supervision.
The nutritious recipes, found under the “For Families” cooking method selection, vary from a classic snack like applesauce to a customizable lettuce wrap meal. Recipes that even the pickiest eater will enjoy while reaping the benefits of all the micronutrients that a variety of produce has to offer.
“We’re excited to reach out to young families by adding these great produce-forward recipes that the whole family can participate in preparing,” said Rachel Burgun, GBFB Assistant Director of Nutrition Programs. “Access to fresh produce is critical to nutrition and health and learning to cook with fresh fruits and vegetables is an important part of eating a well-balanced diet.”
