Ingredients

Directions

  1. Start by peeling ripe bananas and placing them in a mixing bowl. Use a fork or a potato masher to mash the bananas until you achieve a smooth and creamy consistency.
  2. Once the bananas are mashed, add the flour, vanilla extract, nutmeg, and cinnamon to the bowl.
  3. Add just enough oil to cover the bottom of a frying pan and heat the oil over medium heat. Drop a spoonful of the banana fritter batter into the hot oil. Fry the fritters in small batches, leaving enough space between them in the pan. Overcrowding can lower the oil temperature and cause the fritters to absorb more oil.
  4. Fry until golden brown on both sides and cooked on the inside.

Recipe Tips

To make fritters less greasy, ensure that the oil is at the right temperature before frying. If the oil is not hot enough, the fritters will absorb more oil, resulting in a greasy texture. Use a deep-frying thermometer to maintain the oil temperature around 350°F (175°C), and avoid overcrowding the pan, as it can cause the fritters to become greasier.
