Brazilian Lemonade

A lemonade made without lemons?! In Brazil, lemons are not as common as limes and "limonada" refers to a limeade rather than lemonade. This limonada suiça, or Swiss lemonade, is said to be called such because it typically includes Nestle sweetened condensed milk. Just know that this drink is refreshing and delicious!

Ingredients

Directions

  1. Add the sliced limes to a blender.
  2. Add the condensed milk and water to the blender and blend for no more than 15 seconds. The longer you blend, the more bitter the limeade will become.
  3. Using a fine mesh strainer, strain the juice from the blender into a pitcher with ice.
  4. Stir and serve right away!

Recipe Tips

While you may be nervous to use the whole lime (skin and all!) in this drink, the key is to blend for no longer than 15 seconds. The more you blend, the more bitter the drink will turn out. You can also add more water if you find the lime flavor to be too strong.
