  1. Over low heat, combine celery, margarine, chicken broth, and black pepper in a medium saucepan.
  2. Cover and cook over low heat for 20 to 25 minutes, just until celery is crisp but tender.

Use this recipe to braise any vegetable. Heartier vegetables braise best, such as celery root, fennel, and celeriac.
