  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Coat a 13 x 9 inch pan with cooking spray or lightly coat with oil then sprinkle with one teaspoon flour.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the brown sugar, shortening, egg, and applesauce.
  3. Add flour, baking soda, salt, and pumpkin pie spice to the wet ingredients.
  4. Stir in raisins just until mixed.
  5. Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 25 minutes. Cool 5 minutes and then cut into bars.

Recipe Tips

Instead of pumpkin pie spice, try nutmeg or cinnamon.
